First Response, Module 10, is an essential requirement.

There have been some changes post “Transformation”:
  • to the details of which roles require Module 10,
  • for alternative routes to meet the requirements if you have a “First Aid at Work” certificate (Click here for the details) and
  • to the deadlines for achieving qualification.

Module 10 consists of a 6 hour programme and is currently delivered by one of the following routes:

Route A: Blended (or “Hybrid”) model:
(developed by Hampshire Scouts). Consists of:
2 hr e-Learning followed by
3 hr face to face session, including a face to face practical validation section.

This is in 2 parts:, a 3 hour e-learning then a face to face 3 hour practical validation session. This is better suited to those who have more experience in scouting and first aid. The format is for the person to show an understanding and explore through discussion about deeper details. Where we have people with little scouting or first aid experience, we often have to change to teach the subject which then causes the course to run over for everyone.

OR

Route B: Face to face 6 hour training course:
There is no preparatory work required. This type of course is better suited to newer leaders who have limited scouting or first aid experience or prefer face to face learning. Demand for this course has been low so it is run less often, but if you would like to do one you can add yourself to the waiting list using the booking form below. You can also book a 6 hour course with Central Yorkshire. For more details please click here

Please note that for any course to run there need to be at least 4 participants booked on (for a scenario exercise) so, if 3 days before a course there are fewer than 4 bookings, unfortunately, it will not run. Anyone who is booked on that course will be informed so they can make another choice.

There are 14 places on each session. Start times are shown on the booking form below. To see the current dates and availability please click here.

To attend a 3 hour course (Route A) please book on the form below. You will need to do the e-Learning module 7 days beforehand (to allow time for admin and checking.) Click here to access the e-Learning module now.

You can book a 6 hour (Route B) course (if one is available) using the same form. There is no need to do the online course as the material is covered during the session.
