Reva Scouts Water Activity Centre provides
- RYA Sailing Courses,
- RYA Powerboat Courses and
- Water Activity Sessions which can include
- sailing,
- kayaking,
- open canoes,
- rowing,
- paddleboarding,
- bell boating and
- raft building.
We are an accredited RYA Training Centre and are able to offer both RYA youth and adult scheme courses for Scout and Guide members.
For a small additional fee you can make use of our secure dinghy park and sail your own craft both when safety boat cover is available and on a “Buddy Sailing” basis.

REVA Scout Water Activity Centre is based on Reva Reservoir enjoying stunning panoramic views across the Aire Valley.
Access is off Bingley Road, just above Hawksworth, LS20 8PW.
Water Activity Sessions
We can make the following activities available, subject to the weather on the day and the availability of qualified instructors:

We will normally provide up to five activities from the above selection based on the number of participants, instructor availability and the weather.
In a two hour session there is only time for participants to take part in three activities which will be determined by a rota system. It will not be possible to allow participants to choose activities but everyone will still have a great time.

Number of Participants
The maximum numbers for our water activity session are dependent on the size of buoyancy aids that we have. We can currently take a maximum of 40 Scouts, 30 Cubs, or 20 Beavers per session.
Available Dates and Session Times
- Water activity sessions can be booked from the beginning of May through to the end of September.
- Due to an ever increasing demand for these popular Water Activity Sessions we only have a limited number of 2 hour sessions available for booking. A two hour weekend session is from 1000 – 1200 noon or from 1300 – 1500 and an evening session is from 1830 – 2030.
- Evening sessions are offered Wednesday to Friday only. We prefer same age-group bookings where possible.
- The Water Activities we offer on these sessions are aimed at Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts. Beaver and Parent activities will be advertised separately.
- Wharfedale District Scouts bookings take priority and can be made from 1st January.
- Bookings from outside the Wharfedale Scouts District can be made from 1st February onwards (spaces permitting).
- West Yorkshire North Guides have separately arranged two full days of water activities which should be booked via the Guide County Office. We would appreciate Guide Leaders contacting their County or District Water Activities Advisor in the first instance regarding water activities.

Meet at Reva from 1000 hours onwards. Jobs to do include:- boats on water,
- check buoyancy aids/helmets,
- check rafting kit,
- fill pot holes on top road.
- Sunday 14 April – RYA First Aid Course 09:00 – 17:30 hrs

Fundraising for the Internal Refurbishment Project at Reva
You can help raise funds by taking part in any of the following ways:-
- Saturday 18th May – Otley Show
We are looking for volunteers to help run a stand at the Otley Show to promote Scouting in Wharfedale. If you can chat about all things great about Scouting (for Young people and Adults) or help run some Scout activities then please get in touch.
You don’t need to be a Scout Leader, a permit holder or have a DBS check.
In addition there will be a climbing wall (operated by an external provider) and we are looking for volunteers to help with the kitting up and taking money.

Can you help us to raise funds for Reva by signing up to volunteer at the Ilkley Carnival on behalf of Reva Scouts Water Activity Centre?
Roles include:- setting up, closing down, parade bucket collector, supervising on the gates,
- litter picking, parade traffic marshalling and ticket selling.

- Sunday 15 September – Dragon Boat Racing Day. (LATE NOTE)
We held our inaugural Dragon Boat Tournament raising £1,000 towards the refurbishment of the Clubhouse. Teams from Wharfedale, Keighley and Bradford South Districts battled it out to become dragon boat Champions and enjoyed air rifle shooting and soft axe throwing when not on the water. Total funds raised to date will allow the first phase of the proposed works to go ahead over this winter ready for the start of the new season next April.
